Question: Why are cross dressers assumed to be gay? (Posted by: shyguy on 2008-10-31 22:51:25) I love to wear skirts or panties/ pantyhose in private but i am a straight male, yet society always see's this as being gay. Why ?? Surely it's just a fetish like most things |

Posted by: Konrad D on 2008-10-31, 22:53:59 It is clothing made for Woman not men, its like a man having a purse. |

Posted by: michaelstjohn2001 on 2008-10-31, 22:54:41 And you like to do this why? Sounds pretty gay. |

Posted by: shannonboone@ymail.com on 2008-10-31, 22:54:57 It's societies ignorance. for you it's a fetish. |
|
Posted by: Richard B on 2008-10-31, 22:55:18 It's because these people are ignorant. At the same time, it is true that some, I repeat some, gay men also like to wear women's clothes. Some, but not all! |
|
Posted by: Thynight on 2008-10-31, 22:56:34 Its for no other reason than most people are simple minded and cannot understand sexuality beyond what they are raised to believe. |

Posted by: ALD on 2008-10-31, 22:56:56 According to Jerry Springer lot of cross dressers are straight! Of course he's tell you most people who live in trailer parks make over $250,000 a year. So who knows? Maybe some men just like feel of panties! |
|
Posted by: Obi137 on 2008-10-31, 22:57:21 Most people just lump those two sicknesses together... |
|
Posted by: Brandon on 2008-10-31, 22:57:54 Because its traditionally gay and its taboo so people automatically consider it as gay |

Posted by: rjekins78 on 2008-10-31, 22:58:15 Y would a straight person want to dress up like the opposite sex.i think they r denial |
|
Posted by: Wonka on 2008-10-31, 22:58:21 Because they are wearing clothes for the opposite sex. And maybe you like it when your nuts are tightly packed together. |

Posted by: reme_1 on 2008-10-31, 23:05:55 I don't understand cross dressing at all, except for drag shows. I'm a butch woman who dressed femme for halloween years ago. It was the most uncomfortable night of my life: heel, pantyhose, the slip, oh!!! the long fingernails! I needed help going to the restroom. Why a man would want to dress like that boggles my mind LOL BUT if I expect people to accept me,- as a lesbian, I have to be accepting of others along the spectrum of sexuality. So...... I hope you find it comfortable. Be careful not to let your testicles stay too warm too often unless you do not want to be a dad. There are plenty of people who cross dress and I have heard that many are straight men enjoy the sensation of the softer side of women's wear. |

Posted by: waggy on 2008-10-31, 23:18:06 Ignorant people view 'dressing up as a woman' as an effeminate thing. Therefore effeminate = gay. You (as a cross dresser) and me (as a 'gay' man) know this to be one of numerous 'myths' that abound, but unfortunately it is one of those things that will persist. It reminds me a bit of a Venn diagram from Primary school. Yes there are some Gay men who cross dress, but not all gay men cross dress and not all cross dressers are gay. To me, that's not a difficult concept to grasp! |

Posted by: Judy on 2008-11-01, 03:53:46 People view what you are doing as giving up on being male. This is similar to their view of gays. These are the same people who will say that either characteristic, being gay or a crossdresser, is a life style choice. These people also cannot grasp the idea that many gay guys are quite macho. Similarly, these are the type of people that assume that I am transitioning to be with a guy. |
|
Posted by: av on 2008-11-01, 07:00:19 Ignorance short and simple. |

Posted by: Click-on on 2008-11-01, 09:15:02 A lot of people think you're either straight or gay That makes the world easy and people like that. As a part-time cross-dresser, i know how difficult it is to understand who or what you really are. I talked to a lot of cd's and most of them are straight and most of them try to get rid of their habit every now and then. Heard people who threw-away make-up and female clothes several times, just to stop this "unusual behaviour " After some time they really had to dress again. And they (and me) don't understand why. Suppose that, if you are a cross-dresser, you will always stay one. |

Posted by: Nicole on 2008-11-02, 10:11:19 Not sure...ignorance I guess. What we don't understand we just try and lump into a category we dont' agree like. Most cross dressers are in fact hetero sexual. |
