Start a Friendship Club with other cross-dressers, you could borrow clothes from each other, have pajama and makeup parties, have a "Girls night out ". Wait, I'm sorry, that's what girls do.

Get a girl friend (not GF) who's more or less your size to go shopping with you. Explain to her what the deal is. You can pick out the clothes and try them on, and even pay. Nobody will say a thing. Caution: make sure your friend holds the door while you're doing the trying on. Good luck!

Buying your own isn't all that bad I do it all the time at first I tried to hide them when going to the changing room by sandwiching them between two articles of men clothing but over the years I 've gotten bold enough and More in touch with my inner girl that I don't even care anymore heck sometimes I'll even shop while wearing women's clothes. If anyone says anything to you just say your shopping for a friend's or sister's birthday present. That's what I always did and it worked 9 times out of 10.

Thrift stores are great!

I'd really suggest bringing along a female friend, if anything for the support. I went shopping with my sister. Try shopping at a place that's more accepting, like hot topic and thrift stores. I've found that most places don't really care though. Other customers might look at you odd for a sec, but everyone is so self-centered that no one will really give a crap. There are some places, like transgender groups, where some kind people might give you clothing that they plan to never wear again. It might take a couple trips to get bolder, but it gets easier. I used to not pass at all, but went shopping en fem for women's clothing. No one has said anything. One thing to watch out for though is if you live under your parent's roof and they don't know, things may get real interesting next time they look in your room.

You can order a couple of books on Xdressing online. Charles Landers' "The Lazy Crossdresser " comes to mind. He gives practical advice on shopping, makeup etc. You can also do a web search for TG groups in your area. They can give you advice on things you need to know.

Online shopping. Just need a credit card. However, you can't try them on (you might not be able to in a regular store anyway). Just make sure you measure yourself accurately and buy from trusted stores that have good return policies. You'll be returning some. danyelletsinfl: that's gutsy. wow. I could never do that. I'm too chicken.

I think it kind of depends on what you're looking for? Drag, or other-cross-dressing? If you don't really have a sense of style as to which clothing you're looking for, you should probably start thinking about that. Then, you can probably figure out what fits just through trial and error. Makeup is really the biggest thing that you'd need help with, and frankly I don't think anyone's going to be able to help much over the internet. MOst of that is just practice, but...yeah. Good luck; hope that helped somewhat. If not, perhaps try a more specific question.
