Do normal gay people look down upon drag queens?

Some do. I used to until I understood what it was about. The drag queens I admire are not the pretty faces in pretty dresses, because to me all that shows is that they have a good designer and know how to do makeup. The queens I admire are those that bring something extra to the table, dance skills, comedic timing, clowning, etc.

Some do and some don't. The ones that do generally feel drag queens perpetuate the sterotype that gay men like to wear women's clothes. The ones that don't appreciate the hard work and dedication that it takes to put on a drag show.

I don't, but I could see where some people might. The real question is what is normal? A lot of straight people seem to think that feminine gays with a lisp and a limp wrist are normal. I'm sure that some gays do look down on drag queens and others don't.
