Are drag queens sexist?

Question: Are drag queens sexist?

Because when drag queens wear heels and lipstick they are pretty much saying that women are simply mindless idiots who are only categorized by heels and lipstick.

Drag queens usually perform a stereotypical image of women. However, this does not mean they think all women obey those stereotypes.

Drag queens are just performers. I don't believe there is any sexism behind what they do. They're just there to have fun. And I have seen drag queens who don't wear heels. I saw one drag queen as a Kathy Griffin impersonator and she had very little makeup on and wore flats.

Drag queens are exaggerated performances of femininity. They are meant to be exactly that- exaggerations. It's from these stereotyped, cliched, hackneyed, and exaggerated portrayals that we get the humor, the comedy, the showmanship, and sometimes even a witty commentary on gender roles in our society. It's meant to be a performance, not their vision of what womanhood is and/ or should be.
