Okay on the north side of Chicago we have the Baton Show Lounge, Star Gaze, Crobar Nightclub, Roscoe's gay bar, Little Jim's gay bar and Jackhammer gay bar. There are many, many more but just to name a few.

The best trans places are Baton Show loung, Big Chics, and Sidetrack. Spin, cocktail, Hydrate (formerly Roscoes), Chicago Eagle, Cellblock and Charlies all have some shows and whatnot at various times. Charlie's only gets hoppin' after the other clubs close around 1 or 2am...it's open until 4am. Cellblock and Eagle are for the leather crowd. Hydrate used to be known as "Roscoe's " but changed it's name over a year ago. Cocktail is mostly just men, but has a great window to sidewalk "shop " from. Best late night eateries for the Boystown set are Melrose @ Melrose and Broadway...and Nookies on Halsted. Although I do miss the old Buddies, granted mostly a "country western " themed place, the crowd was always friendly and the food wasn't half bad.
